Two separate shootings in the La Puente area have resulted in death, as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, with homicide detectives actively investigating both incidents that occurred within hours of each other on Monday night; the first event took place on the 500 block of Leverett Avenue, and the second on the 900 block of Fickewirth Avenue, as confirmed in statements CBS News Los Angeles and Nixle.

The initial shooting was reported at approximately 5:16 P.M., where responders found a male victim with gunshot wounds, later transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries details of this first shooting were sparse but what's known is that it added to a tally of violence that had yet to conclude for the day, later, just after 9:00 P.M. another man was found, also with gunshot wounds, and despite being rushed to the hospital, he too was pronounced dead.

Both victims were identified as male adults, although their identities have not been disclosed to the public at this time; investigators have urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigations details about potential suspects or motives behind these tragic events remain unavailable as Lieutenant Modica of the LASD Homicide Bureau has not provided additional insights, according to Nixle reports.
