
On Thursday evening, a fire broke out at a garden-style apartment doing business as the Hollywood Hotel located at 7047 W Franklin Ave in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the blaze was first reported at 8:00 P.M., with flames and smoke visible from a unit on the first floor when firefighters arrived on the scene.
The response team, consisting of 35 firefighters, managed to quickly control and extinguish the fire by 8:14 P.M., a rapid knockdown that took just 14 minutes. This effort was documented in a follow-up LAFD alert, detailing that crews remained on scene to perform overhaul operations and to make certain that the fire did not spread beyond the initial unit.
During the incident, the Department of Transportation was required to shut down Franklin Avenue between La Brea and Orange to facilitate emergency operations and ensure safety. No additional details were released regarding potential injuries or the extent of the damage to the property at the time of the knockdown alert.
