In a move set to disrupt the daily commute, AT&T crews are scheduled to cause traffic delays along southbound Lindbergh. Starting this coming Monday, right after the morning commute simmers down, the right lane on U.S. Route 67 (Lindbergh Boulevard) is expected to shutter down as crews labor to erect structures. These are practical necessities to extricate utilities from the cramped confines of the Deer Creek Bridge. As reported by MoDOT, this is a change to note from Monday, March 17, through to the end of the month.
Motorists accustomed to navigating the heavy traffic to access Interstate 64 may need to find alternate routes. Lindbergh Boulevard, a key road for drivers passing through the Frontenac area, will become more congested as one lane is closed for construction. Businesses on southbound Lindbergh, however, will remain within reach—their access unmarred by the closures. The disruption is to purely make way for the necessary work involved in the bridge at the Conway/German and Conway Road intersection, yet it promises to rather inconveniently stretch out for a fortnight, as detailed by MoDOT.
With a right lane closure ahead, AT&T and MoDOT recommend drivers prepare for a two-week adjustment period. To avoid heavy traffic, consider leaving earlier or taking an alternate route. Meanwhile, crews will work to relocate utilities and minimize disruption to travel.
