The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) will fully close Tropicana Avenue from Polaris Avenue to New York-New York starting Sunday, March 9, at 9:00 p.m. The closure, which is part of work to reconfigure the diverging diamond interchange, will last until 5 a.m. on March 14 and affect traffic around the clock.
The specific closures include the southbound I-15 off-ramp to Tropicana Avenue and the Tropicana Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-15. Despite the inconvenience, access to New York-New York and Excalibur will be maintained, also, businesses on Dean Martin Drive will remain accessible throughout the duration of the closure.
Drivers should expect delays and use caution in work zones. Detours are recommended. After the closure, the NDOT plans to open the southbound I-15 to eastbound Tropicana ramp on March 14, but Tropicana Avenue will still have two lanes in each direction due to ongoing construction.
For the latest updates, including restrictions, schedules, and FAQs, drivers can visit the I-15/Tropicana Project website. Real-time highway conditions are available at nvroads.com or by calling 511.
