The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has arrested 37-year-old Salvador Delgadillo in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month. The incident took place in the early hours of March 11, in a parking lot at the 6000 block of West Charleston Boulevard. Responding officers found a man who had sustained a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at the scene, as detailed in an official release by LVMPD and through information provided by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
Delgadillo was identified by detectives as a suspect and was subsequently apprehended this Monday. He is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center, facing an open murder charge. The news, posted on the LVMPD website, details that officers had located Delgadillo two weeks after the fatal shooting incident. Attempts by investigators to quickly find and to arrest the suspect were successful, potentially preventing any further harm.
The victim, whose identity has yet to be disclosed pending notifications to next of kin, was reportedly standing next to his vehicle when he was approached by another vehicle. An exchange took place before the fatal shot was fired from within the approaching vehicle, which fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement.
Prior to the arrest, LVMPD had appealed to the public for assistance in the case, providing phone numbers and an email address for the Homicide Section alongside an anonymous tip line via Crime Stoppers. The prompt response by local community members may have aided in the swift arrest. LVMPD has encouraged anyone who still may have information about the incident to come forward, as the investigation remains ongoing.
All information pertaining to victim identification and the official cause of death must be obtained through the Clark County Coroner's Office. The LVMPD Homicide Section is still actively pursuing leads and has asked that any additional tips be sent to their direct line at 702-828-3521 or via email at [email protected]. For those wishing to stay anonymous, there's the option to contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555, or online at their website www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
