
The festivities begin on April 5 with "Praise In The Park" at Historic Westside Legacy Park. The event will feature performances from Church Girls Rock, Gospel Giggles, Las Vegas 10 Tenors, and Aaron Arrington & Facebook Chorale, along with a gospel DJ, food trucks, and informational booths. It's a celebration of community, brought together by the city of Las Vegas, Aaron Arrington, Facebook Chorale, and the West Las Vegas Arts Center, according to the City of Las Vegas.
Following this musical indulgence is the West Las Vegas Arts Center's open house on April 19, where the center, located at 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd., welcomes one and all to witness the fruits of their students' labor; the lineup promises a rhythmic African Drum & Dance, the poised Children’s Ballet & Tap, the pulsating Hip Hop, the restorative Body Therapy, Salsa Dancing with Live Arts Dance Institute that captures the vigor of life, Breathe & Flow Yoga that epitomizes the fluidity of movement, a traditional ensemble with a Mariachi Band, and the strategic gameplay of Chess, as detailed by the City of Las Vegas.
The West Las Vegas Arts Center is opening registration for its Performing & Visual Arts Summer Camp on April 2 at 9 a.m. The camp, for kids ages 10-15, runs from June 2 to July 26, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except on June 19 and July 4). It will end with student performances on July 25-26. The camp costs $400, with financial aid available for eligible participants.
