The City of Lewisville is opening its doors to civic-minded residents interested in shaping the future of their community. According to a news release from the city, applications are being accepted for positions on various City boards, commissions, and committees. These groups advise the City Council on a range of issues affecting local governance and community life.
Lewisville residents who desire to contribute to public service have until Friday, May 2, to submit their applications. There are 11 active boards or committees to choose from, each addressing a different area of city affairs. Applicants should note that appointments are set to be considered by the City Council before its Monday, June 16, meeting, which is an opportunity for prospective members to significantly impact legislative decisions.
Applications can be submitted online through the "Boards & Commissions" page on the official City of Lewisville website. The City Secretary will retain the submitted applications for one year to fill upcoming appointments and vacancies that might occur throughout the year.
The City not only encourages but welcomes the interest of its residents. It is suggested that those considering applying attend the meetings of prospective boards and commissions to understand their functionality and current issues on the table.
