Last evening, the tranquility of a Lewisville neighborhood was abruptly disrupted when a Texas, New Mexico Power pole succumbed to gravity, its descent igniting a modest blaze in the grass below.
The incident occurred in the 200 block of Carrington Lane around 7 o'clock, temporarily transforming the area into an impromptu tableau of emergency response activity. According to an update from the Lewisville Police Department's social media post, the small grass fire that followed was quickly subdued.
The event also cast the surrounding homes into an unexpected evening shadow as the power outage took hold. Currently on scene were the local First Responders, accompanying the Texas New Mexico Power representatives, who were grappling with the outage, which had not been given a prognosis for restoration at the time.
