The streets of Old Town in Lewisville, Texas, donned their festive best this past Saturday as the community celebrated St. Paddy's Texas Style event. According to a social media post by the Lewisville Police Department, officers were on hand to oversee the celebrations and help maintain a safe environment for all attendees.
In a manner fitting the light-hearted revelry of the day, the Lewisville Police Department's post shared a glimpse into the spirit of the occasion, "This past Saturday, our officers were out and about at the St. Paddy’s Texas Style event in Old Town, making sure everyone had a safe and shamrockin’ good time." The officers' efforts encompassed vigilance over the joyous festivities and any mischief from overly enthusiastic leprechaun impersonators. The department's sense of humor showed in their lament that their Chief didn't acquiesce to a seasonal uniform update, "We did try to convince the Chief to let us switch to green uniforms for the day, but apparently, “official department colors” are more important than seasonal fashion.”
Community interaction was high on the agenda for the day, with officers mingling and contributing to the event’s friendly atmosphere. The Lewisville Police Department took to social media to express their appreciation for the party-goers' responsible behavior, stating, "Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated responsibly! Until next time—stay safe and stay lucky!"
