
A 25-year-old man has been left in critical condition following a shooting near Pimlico Elementary/Middle School yesterday. According to WMAR-2 News, the victim was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head and was quickly attended to by medical personnel. The school was temporarily locked down due to the nearby police activity but was later dismissed without further incidents.
The Baltimore Police Department reported that officers were called to the 4800 block of Pimlico Road around 1:45 p.m. for a reported shooting. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital after he was found suffering from a critical injury. FOX Baltimore noted that the lockdown at Pimlico Elementary School lasted until 3:35 p.m., after which normal school dismissal procedures were followed.
Investigators have urged community members to proceed with information regarding the incident and contact detectives at 410-396-2455. The ongoing investigation continues to seek leads that may help bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to aid in the prevention of future violence in the area.
