Action News 5 reported that the Memphis Police Department responded to a pedestrian-struck call around 3:38 p.m. near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Idlewild Street.

Initial reports from the scene indicated that the individual was taken to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead, despite earlier confusion when MPD mistakenly identified the victim as female it was indeed a male victim.
