A dispute over posters in Houston's Heights area spiraled into deadly violence this past weekend, leaving one man dead and another injured. Click2Houston reports that a group of men outside a store on Yale Street and West 19th Street were involved in an argument that escalated when at least one individual drew a firearm and shot at the other group at around 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
Following the gunfire, two men were struck, one in his 20s who later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, and another man, in his 40s, is recovering and expected to make a full recovery however, the police have not yet disclosed any details regarding the identity of the shooter. In a bid for assistance from the public, Detective Meister stated, “If anybody has any more information or any footage, we encourage you to reach out to us at the Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers,” according to a statement obtained by Click2Houston.
In a separate account of the incident, KHOU confirms that the confrontation took place in a parking lot, without giving further context about the nature of the posters that incited the argument. The man in his 20s was taken to a hospital where he died the second man, wounded during the shooting, was described as being in 'good condition,' alluding to his likelihood of recovery.
