Tragedy struck in Houston's Third Ward on Monday night when a man riding a scooter became the victim of a double shooting incident. According to Click2Houston, the victim was first targeted in a drive-by shooting near the 3700 block of Drew Street at approximately 8:20 p.m. He fled to a nearby liquor store in search of aid, only to be shot once more by a separate assailant within that very refuge.
Houston police and fire crews responded to a large crowd outside a liquor store and called for backup. The victim, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, was shot multiple times and taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition and undergoing surgery. A white or silver Dodge Charger was connected to the first shooting. The second attack happened inside the store, and the suspect fled on foot. After the assault, the victim's scooter was also stolen, as mentioned by KHOU.
Houston Police Department are currently conducting an investigation to identify the shooters. There is an ongoing plea for anyone with information related to this crime to come forward.
