Early on Sunday morning in Good Hope, a violent incident unfolded that resulted in a man suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call on the 21000 block of Mountain Avenue at approximately 7:45 a.m. to find the injured male who was immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition.

A quick response by local law enforcement led to the apprehension of the alleged assailant at the crime scene. The suspect was identified as Salvador Ortiz, a 36-year-old resident of the area. “Ortiz was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for attempted murder,” as stated in an official statement provided by the Sheriff's Department. The investigation, now spearheaded by the Perris Investigations Bureau, is still underway.
