In a disturbing display of domestic violence, a Manatee County woman, with child in womb, fled the grasp of her alleged abuser, who is now facing charges after assaulting her and her young children. As reported by FOX 13 News, the assailant, identified as 22-year-old Anthony Reyes-Enos, engaged in several days of aggression towards his 23-year-old pregnant girlfriend during a prolonged altercation.
The harrowing circumstances escalated as the victim sought to permanently escape the hazardous circumstance, leaving behind her two toddler-aged children. In a taunting reprisal, Reyes-Enos dispatched numerous photographs to the mother—depicting her one and two-year-old chidden marred by bruises and wounds, as detailed in a statement obtained by the ABC Action News. These images horrifically signaled the abuse sustained by the innocents in their mother's absence.
Upon their response to the scene, Manatee County deputies were greeted with the grim reality of the children's condition—bearing “multiple lacerations, bruising and swelling,” as described in their findings. The emergency measure to swiftly transport both the mother, who sustained her own injuries in the ordeal, and her children to local medical facilities was enacted for urgent treatment. This account was further corroborated by reporting from WTSP.
While the children and their mother begin their journey of healing in the hospital, law enforcement continues to probe ever deeper into the events that transpired within the walls of what should have been a place of security and familial love. Reyes-Enos, the accused, must now face the profound ramifications of these egregious acts. The investigation, as is standard in such grave matters, remains ongoing, a delicate process aimed to unravel the truth and to duly administer justice.
