The search is on for a man who allegedly shot his father in a dispute over money last night in northeast Houston. According to Click2Houston, the argument escalated in a parking lot off the N Loop East Freeway close to 610.
Investigators told KHOU, a man in his 50s was speaking to his son from within his red truck, while his son was in another vehicle with a friend, discussing a financial disagreement which quickly turned violent. Shot in the back by his son, the father, still unnamed, was left to crash his truck into an embankment off the service road, while attempting to drive himself to safety.
The injured father was subsequently rushed to the hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. Detectives have yet to release the names of those involved and the suspect remains at large. Houston police are urging the public to share any information that could assist in locating the suspect, encouraging witnesses or anyone with relevant knowledge of the incident to come forward.
