A heavy structure fire engulfed a large home in Brockton, drawing a slew of fire crews to the scene and prompting a three-alarm response. Boston 25 reported that the blaze started at the residence located at 41 Weston Street, where upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames that had overtaken the 2.5-story building.

The fire was so severe that crews were unable to safely enter the house, as Brockton Fire Chief Brian Nardelli related, "The fire was so extensive we had to hit it from the outside." According to a WHDH interview, Nardelli remarked, "We actually never made it inside the building, that’s how intense it was. It was radiating heat." The strength of the fire led to the collapse of the front and side of the home, while also causing damage to the side of an adjacent property.

The mutual aid response that was rapidly summoned allowed fire crews to extinguish the flames after an hour and a half, which had begun to pose a threat to neighboring homes. All four residents of the burning home were accounted for, and one individual was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and at this time remains undetermined. The sole occupant inside the home at the time of the fire was safely transported to receive medical care, likely to hastily reduce the risk of any serious smoke-related injuries. The dramatic scene, witnessed by neighbors and passersby, underscored the destructive potential of such a blaze, as both Boston 25 and WHDH noted the structure's ruin and the peril it imposed to the surrounding area.
