Texas Governor Greg Abbott appointed Ernest Aliseda to the OneStar National Service Commission, which oversees volunteer service and AmeriCorps programs in the state. His term will run until March 15, 2028, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
Aliseda, from McAllen, serves as general counsel for DHR Health, a municipal judge in McAllen, and a Flotilla Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He is a former state district judge and a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, as stated by the Office of the Texas Governor.
He has served on Senator Ted Cruz’s U.S. Military Academy Selection Board, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics Director’s Council, and the advisory council for Texas A&M's Higher Education Center at McAllen. According to the Office of the Texas Governor, he holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center, and a Master of Laws in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
