
The Metropolitan Police Department has reported the apprehension of an individual linked to a violent attempt at robbery in the Northwest region of our city. The incident, which unfolded on the 5500 block of Connecticut Avenue, occurred in the broad daylight of Friday afternoon, March 7.
According to the official police release, at about 1:59 p.m., the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Kevin Washington, approached the victim and allegedly assaulted him with the explicit intent to take money forcibly. Police officers were able to respond to the scene and arrest Washington quickly. In a statement released by MPD, the department announced that Washington, who has no fixed address, has been charged with Assault With Intent to Rob.
