
The Metropolitan Police Department is in the midst of an investigation following a deadly shooting that occurred in the Southeast area of the city. The incident occurred on Thursday near the 2400 block of Elvans Road, Southeast.
Police officers from the Seventh District were dispatched to the scene at around 7:02 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male victim whose life hung in the balance of emergency response. Despite urgent medical intervention, the victim, later identified as 25-year-old Tre'von Norman of Waldorf, MD, was pronounced dead, according to a press release by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Metropolitan Police Department has issued an appeal for assistance from the public. Anyone with information concerning this tragic event is urged to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or forward a tip via text to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The department is offering a substantial incentive, a reward of up to $25,000, to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this and any other homicide within the District of Columbia.
