The Metropolitan Police Department is soliciting help from the public to identify and apprehend suspects involved in a violent crime that unfolded in Southeast D.C. last month, where a victim was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint. According to a release put out by the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place on February 28 around 11:32 p.m. on the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr Avenue.
The report detailed by the MPD described how the suspects approached their target from behind struck with a handgun, the victim was then forced to the ground, from where they were further robbed as the assailants made off with belongings straight from the victim's pockets. One of the suspects was caught on camera, and footage was made publicly available through a provided link to bring the suspects to justice. The police urge anyone with information to get in touch but caution against direct intervention.
