Following a suspicious fire in Millvale that damaged two homes and a vehicle, 41-year-old Stephen Ebner has been charged. As reported by WTAE, Allegheny County police filed the charges yesterday concerning the March 6 incident.
The early morning blaze, tackled by firefighters responding to the scene on Evergreen Avenue, prompted an extensive investigation by the General Investigations Unit of the Allegheny County Police Department in collaboration with the Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office. The findings gathered at the scene led investigators to rule the fire as incendiary.
According to WPXI, Ebner, who was already in custody for unrelated theft charges and other bench warrants, now faces aggravated arson, arson, causing or risking a catastrophe, and criminal mischief charges.
Ebner's preliminary hearing on the new charges is yet to be scheduled.
