Golf enthusiasts in Minneapolis can barely start to unpack their clubs as two more golf courses fling open their gates, adding to the greens available for spring swings. According to the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board bulletin, Meadowbrook and Columbia Golf Courses are set to open their fairways on Tuesday, March 18 at 12 pm. This comes on the heels of Fort Snelling Golf Course, which has already welcomed players back on the links since last week.
The next course slated to potentially unfurl its greens is Francis A. Gross Golf Course, tentatively dated to begin hosting golfers as early as Friday, March 21. Meanwhile, reports indicate that slots at the now-open Fort Snelling Golf Club are up for grabs in person on a first-come, first-served basis. True to season-start traditions, all early birds seeking to tee off at any of the currently open courses will need to do so without the convenience of carts, as it's currently walking only – quite literally, put a spring in your step.
For those itching to spark up their short game or just to leisurely drive a bucket of balls into the horizon, the Francis A. Gross and Columbia Driving Ranges and Learning Centers are open too, reports confirm. However, players are to initially make do with hitting off mats. Tee times and further details can be directly accessed through Play Golf Minneapolis' bulletin.
As for the other venues in the golfing ecosystem of Minneapolis, Hiawatha and Wirth Golf Courses are yet to announce their opening dates. Details for their respective driving range facilities follow suit, with Hiawatha Driving Range and Learning Center remaining under wraps. Don't bother to check your inbox obsessively, interested parties – updates on these sites are said to be dispatched as and when conditions are primed for a new season of hole-in-ones and bogeys.
