The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office reported that Daniel Salazar of Modesto was sentenced to 45 years last Monday, for crimes involving extortion, threats, and the production of abusive materials. Salazar targeted over 40 young victims through social media. The investigation began after a former middle school student named Riley came forward, helping authorities bring Salazar to justice, as reported by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office.

Riley's report led to an investigation that revealed Salazar's involvement in human trafficking and exploitation. Authorities found that Salazar used personal information to threaten violence, kidnapping, and control over his victims. The investigation also uncovered that Salazar produced and distributed explicit materials internationally, with connections reportedly reaching as far as India, as stated by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Salazar has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term and must register as a lifetime sex offender following his conviction for human trafficking.
