Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is hosting a series of 'Community Conversations' to discuss the Fiscal Year 2027 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) budget. The meetings, in partnership with the County's five regional Citizen Advisory Boards, aim to engage local residents in discussions about long-term objectives and capital expenditures. The first meeting will take place tomorrow from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Wheaton Community Recreation Center, with additional sessions scheduled in person and virtually through May 6, as per the Montgomery County website.
The CIP focuses on capital projects that differ from the annual operating budget, such as education, transportation, affordable housing, and environmental initiatives. Public input is a key part of the planning process, and Elrich invites residents to attend and share their views. Breakout sessions will cover specific topics like education, parks, recreation, and transportation.
Details on the schedule and locations for the CIP Community Conversations can be found on the Montgomery County website. For those unable to attend in person, meetings will be available for viewing on County Cable Montgomery (CCM) or via live streams on the county's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
