The event is a collaboration between the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, local parks, and community organizations.

As per the Montgomery County release, before the event, Spanish-speaking residents can learn more about World Water Day on the "En Sintonía con el Concejo" radio show, airing today at 2 p.m. on Radio America. The show will include insights from Ana Arriaza and others involved in regional environmental efforts, offering vital information for the Latino community in Montgomery County.

The radio program will also cover health-related topics, specifically Maryland Health Connection’s special enrollment for health insurance. Leslie Martinez, a program manager at Montgomery Health Connection, will explain the enrollment process for those who qualify due to certain life events.
