
A 35-year-old man was arrested late last week in connection with a car break-in on Georgia Avenue. Bengaly Camara stands accused of theft from auto and is also facing weapons-related charges after the incident that took place on the night of Thursday, as Montgomery County Police Department reported.
According to a press release by the Montgomery County Department of Police, officers were dispatched to the 10800 block of Georgia Avenue around 11 p.m. in response to the reported theft. The 4th District – Special Assignment Team (SAT), which quickly moved to thoroughly investigate the situation, was able to swiftly identify Camara as the suspect.
Assistance from the 3rd District – SAT led to Camara's location near Ramsey Avenue and Wayne Avenue, where he was subsequently arrested and taken into custody without further incident. Police say that upon his arrest, investigators recovered multiple items that they are describing as being of evidentiary value.
Following the arrest, Camara was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Here, he has been formally charged with the aforementioned offenses. As is standard procedure, the suspect now awaits further legal proceedings to determine the outcome of his case.
