Authorities have taken three teenagers into custody in connection with a series of robberies in the Olney area. A report from Montgomery County's official website outlines the incidents that led to their arrest, starting with a strong-arm robbery at a Harris Teeter on Town Center Drive on February 15. Following this incident, the same 16-year-old male was implicated again in an armed robbery at a McDonald's on Georgia Avenue.
In an ongoing investigation, Montgomery County police were alerted to another crime scene last Friday, where two of the suspects, aged 16 and 15, were spotted at the Olney Village Shopping Center. Officers arrested both teenagers, whose ties to previous robberies placed them squarely in the web of recent crimes. It was reported that the 15-year-old was found with a firearm at the time of arrest.
The trio's spree culminated in an interdiction by 4th District patrol officers, who managed to apprehend all three individuals. These arrests are the result of patrol officers’ diligence and cater to the growing concerns among Olney residents about the surge in local crime. The individuals, two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old are now facing charges linked to these incidents. The two 16-year-olds were brought to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
