
A man was arrested following a standoff at a home in Magnolia on Friday. The suspect, 43-year-old Charles Sinclair, allegedly assaulted his elderly parents before barricading himself inside a residence on the 900 block of Westwood North Drive, as stated by Click2Houston.
Deputies arrived at the scene around 10 a.m. and found Sinclair's parents, ages 73 and 74, outside the house. Sinclair then went back inside and barricaded himself, prompting authorities to call in the SWAT team and detectives from the Major Crimes Unit for assistance. The initial response was to a reported family violence incident, as reported by FOX26 Houston.
A standoff lasting several hours ended with Sinclair’s arrest after authorities used “non-lethal” means, as per Click2Houston. Sinclair faces charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and injury to the elderly. During the incident, Sinclair’s mother was attacked with a blunt object and taken to a hospital, while his father was assessed on the scene and released. Both were outside the home when deputies arrived, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
