The Morrison County Board of Commissioners has a packed schedule in the coming week, and residents are invited to observe and participate. According to a public notice, the commissioners will be spread across various locations, including the Government Center in Little Falls and Arrowwood Lodge in Baxter, addressing topics from public safety to pipeline safety.
On Monday at 6:30 p.m., concerns related to public safety kicked off the week's deliberations at the County Board Room. Following that, the morning of March 4th was stacked with a planning session and a budget committee meeting starting at 8:30 a.m., sandwiched by the AIS Grant Application Review and the BOA Meeting locked at 10:00 a.m. Interestingly, these two simultaneous 10:00 a.m. meetings required officials to be in two places at once.
The Morrison County Board's commitment to safety continued into the evening with a 6:00 p.m. Pipeline Safety Meeting at the Arrowwood Lodge. Less than a day later, members were in Willmar for the MN Association of Drainage Inspectors' annual gathering, proving their dedication to environmental oversight and their propensity to travel for the county's well-being.
As the workweek continues, a session on TSWAC at the landfill on Friday at 8:30 am will see the commissioners getting their hands dirty with waste management issues. Bringing a range of critical issues into focus, this week’s agenda reflects the Board's multifaceted role in keeping the county's wheels turning. However, With merely a phone call away for those requiring special accommodations, inclusivity at these gatherings is just a trailing thought, as accessibility cannot be an afterthought. Morrison County residents needing assistance are reminded to call 320-632-0296 at least 48 hours before the meeting they plan to attend.
