
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for an individual following a felony assault involving an ATV and two police officers. According to the latest update, the incident occurred on the evening of March 15, 2025, when a suspect on an ATV collided with the officers on the 1400 block of U Street, Northwest, causing them injuries that necessitated hospital treatment.
The confrontation happened at around 8:13 p.m., with the officers aiming to approach the ATV rider for using the vehicle on public property. During this encounter, the suspect struck two members of the Third District. One officer sustained serious injuries, however, both have been discharged from the hospital since, according to a statement from the MPD.
Details of the suspect and the ATV have been obtained from surveillance footage, which MPD has released in hopes that the community can assist in identifying the individual responsible. The video showing the incident can be viewed on the department's official YouTube channel.
The MPD is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident not to engage directly but to contact the police department at (202) 727-9099 or to send their tip via text message, to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. To encourage public cooperation, the MPD is offering a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who can deliver information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person, or persons involved in this crime.
