Early this morning, residents of Gastonia, Gaston County, awoke to the alarming sight of a house fire on Sterling Road. At approximately 8:50 AM, emergency services were alerted to a two-story garage engulfed in flames. The Crowders Mountain Fire Department's engine 551 was the first to arrive at the scene, initiating what was described as an "aggressive attack" on the fire, as reported on the Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services' social media page.
The response to the conflagration drew a collaborative effort from several agencies, with the Gastonia Fire Department, Union Rd Fire Department, New Hope Fire Department, and even the Clover (SC) Fire Department joining forces to combat the blaze. Additionally, the Gaston County Police Department and GEMS were present to provide support and ensure residents' safety.
