A serious three-car collision occurred in North Hills, resulting in multiple injuries, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). The accident took place at 15800 W Plummer St on March 10th, and LAFD responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:31 PM (INC#0957). Initial reports from the LAFD indicated that three patients were involved, with one individual trapped within the wreckage and in critical condition, while two others had managed to self-extricate with minor injuries before the authorities arrived at the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department is also involved in the incident, logged under LAPD Inc# 2698.
Efforts to rescue the trapped victim were underway as LAFD teams including Battalion 15, fire stations such as FS 87, and specialized units like Urban Search and Rescue (UR88) were engaged in the emergency response, with the critical condition of the trapped individual emphasizing the direness of the situation, however, a later update from LAFD showed a positive progression in the victim's state. The responding units also comprised of E275, E287, E7, E75, E87, EM15, FR91, HR3, RA75, RA98, T75, and T87, which collaborated in the extrication and provided medical support.
Subsequently, the LAFD released an update on the trapped vehicle situation at 1:50 PM, revising the condition of the patient previously labeled as critical. The patient's status was upgraded to serious, reflecting an improvement from the earlier assessment. In addition to the one patient whose condition was serious, three other individuals sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation and care. The updated report thus described a total of four patients connected to the incident.
