Munford High School was closed today after the discovery of a teacher's death before the school day began. Munford Police Department wrote on Facebook, "We want to assure parents, students, and the community that there is no ongoing threat." Out of caution, the school decided to remain closed for the day.
Tipton County Schools’ Assistant Superintendent Dr. Rebekah Byrd described the event as isolated and assured that everyone on campus is unharmed.
Munford Police are investigating the situation and promised to provide updates as the case unfolds. In a statement to WREG, they said, "We appreciate the cooperation of the school staff and first responders in ensuring the safety of our students.
