A fire broke out in an unoccupied home under renovation on Medford Campbell Blvd, damaging the rafters and causing a roof collapse. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department personnel used an elevated water stream to control the flames before confirming the house was empty.

According to the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department Facebook page, the fire caused additional risks when power lines fell onto the first fire truck, prompting a call to Murfreesboro Electric to handle the live electrical hazard. Despite these challenges, the fire was extinguished without injuries. Responding units included Engine 3, Ladder 2, Ladder 4, Ladder 8, Rescue 1, Battalion Chief 1 & 2, Safety 1 & 2, and several cars from the Fire Marshal Office.

Assistant Fire Marshal Shan Womack led the investigation, with the cause of the fire still undetermined. The fire response caused a temporary traffic closure along Bradyville Pike as crews worked to control the situation.

No residents or firefighters were injured during the incident.
