A Muskegon woman, aged 27, was hospitalized following a rollover accident last night on I-96 in Crockery Township. Reports from several outlets, including WOODTV, confirmed the crash occurred near mile marker 12 on eastbound I-96, triggered by an automated iPhone crash alert at around 11:10 p.m.
Upon arrival, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a 2015 Chevy Malibu with significant rollover damage. The driver was found on the ground near the car, suggesting she had been thrown from the vehicle during the accident. The woman was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, as per MLive coverage of the incident.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation into the crash, though no information about what may have caused the car to veer off the road has been released. Local firefighters from Crockery Township were noted for assisting at the crash scene.
Details surrounding the accident remain limited, but authorities appeal to the public for information. "Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office at 616.738.4000 or Silent Observer at 877.887.4536," WOODTV reported.
