Nashville Police are on the hunt for a gunman after shots were fired into an apartment in the 1100 block of Litton Avenue. The incident, which took place last month, involved a man who approached the apartment on two separate occasions before discharging his weapon into the residence. According to the official Nashville government website, detectives are actively seeking the public's assistance to identify the shooter.
On the evening of February 14th, the unidentified suspect was seen sitting on the porch of the apartment for approximately an hour before departing without incident. He returned five days later, on February 19th, where he interacted with the occupants through a home security system. During the interaction, the suspect claimed his name was Nasan, and insisted he was seeking his child who supposedly resided at the apartment. None of the residents recognized the man or understood his claims. After leaving and then coming back half an hour later, the suspect fired nine rounds into the apartment. Despite the violent barrage, there were no physical injuries reported.
The attack has stoked unease and concern among local residents, with the potential for such an act of aggression to result in tragedy. The victims, a 43-year-old woman, and a 50-year-old man, experienced property damage – specifically to an exterior door and three windows. Eyewitness accounts or surveillance footage could play a crucial role in apprehending the individual responsible for these reckless actions.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who might recognize the gunman from a photo provided to contribute to the ongoing investigation. For those who have any information, Nashville Crime Stoppers is the point of contact and can be reached at 615-742-7463.
