Flames and smoke erupted from the second floor of a building in the 1100 block of Amity Street, as reported by WPXI, causing firefighters to scramble to quell the blaze.
Allegheny County firefighters received the call at precisely 7:30 p.m. Their efforts against the fire commenced with a focus on the rear side of the concerned structure. Despite the potentially robust nature of the fire, there were no reported injuries, a fortunate fact in the wake of such events. The Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company members witnessed smoke and fire billowing from the troubled locale, WTAE reported.
Although the immediate danger is over, the cause of the fire is still unknown. The Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the site to determine what started the blaze.
