In a recent announcement, the Nevada State Police detailed the results of a coordinated traffic enforcement operation that aimed to curb driving under the influence and other road violations in Northern Nevada. According to a Facebook post by the Nevada State Police, the operation took place on March 15, 2025, with multiple law enforcement agencies joining forces along U.S. routes 30, 50 Alternate, and 95 Alternate.

During this enforcement surge, which included efforts from the Nevada Highway Patrol, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, and Churchill County Sheriff's Office, officers conducted 171 enforcement stops. As per the Nevada State Police, the operation resulted in making 7 driving under the influence arrests, issuing 97 citations, and making an additional 3 arrests. Highlighting the importance of road safety, the aim of the collaboration was not just focused on catching those breaking the law, but also on the public awareness of risky driving behaviors like speeding and driving while distracted.

Major Munoz of the Nevada Highway Patrol commented on the necessity of such operations by saying, "Our troopers are committed to keeping Nevada's roads safe. Driving under the influence and speeding continue to be the top contributing factors for fatalities on our roadways." He also reminded motorists about the dangers of impaired driving, stating, "We remind motorists to always plan for a safe and sober ride and never drive impaired," as stated by the Nevada State Police.
