
A Norton Shores man, aged 72, is now in custody following a bomb threat made against Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital last Friday. According to FOX 17, the Muskegon Police Department responded to the threat at around 8 p.m., searching the hospital alongside the Muskegon Fire Department, Michigan State Police, the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office, and Trinity Security. The thorough search resulted in the finding of no explosives on the premises.
The operation to swiftly trace the threat led to a residence in Norton Shores, where the senior suspect was detained. To quickly ensure public safety, law enforcement officials worked rapidly to ascertain the credibility of the threat and to secure the hospital environment. MLive reported that after the all-clear was given, officers managed to track down the individual responsible for the unnerving claim.
As part of their emergency protocols, Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital has stated, "Trinity Health Muskegon received a bomb threat yesterday evening that has since been cleared. The hospital has standard procedures in place to ensure a safe and secure healing environment for patients, visitors and employees.
