The Novato Police Department is actively investigating a case of felony vandalism after a Tesla CyberTruck was targeted in a private driveway yesterday, according to a social media post from the department. Around 4:22 AM, an individual was reportedly seen casing the residence before returning nearly an hour later at 5:41 AM with a concrete rock to attack the vehicle. The destruction included multiple throws of the rock at the vehicle's windshield, the slashing of all four of the vehicle's tires, and the leaving behind of a handwritten note attached with yellow duct tape warning of the tire damage. The suspect also attempted to obscure the evidence by putting duct tape over one of the security cameras.
The department pleads for Jackson Dr., Truman Dr., Brown Dr., Garner Dr., or Washington Dr. residents to review their camera footage for any suspicious activities or vehicles between 4 AM and 6 AM. A call to action was published on the Novato Police's Instagram account, encouraging anyone with pertinent information to come forward and contact authorities at 415-897-4361 or via email at [email protected] and to reference Case #NP25-804. "Your assistance is greatly appreciated as we work to identify the suspects in both cases and hold them accountable," the department noted in their online request.
This is not an isolated incident in the community; Novato Police mentioned that there has been at least one recent vandalism case targeting Tesla vehicles. The department reassured residents that they are fully committed to investigating these incidents and ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.
