A late-night blaze engulfed a house on the 3100 Block of SW 97th in Oklahoma City, prompting a swift response from local firefighters. The Oklahoma City Fire Department reported that the fire started on Friday, at around 11:15 PM, and upon their arrival, they encountered heavy flames at the rear of the home. A team of first responders was able to rescue a trapped victim from the front bedroom by entering through a window.
After the individual was safely removed, and transported to the hospital for treatment. The firefighters deemed the fire's intensity too great for an immediate interior attack instead opting for a defensive strategy to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. Despite the defensive measures, the house sustained significant damage before the fire could be subdued and extinguished.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but early reports do not indicate any suspicion of foul play. The Oklahoma City Fire Department has highlighted the efforts of the firefighters involved, labelling it as "great work by all crews on scene" in their social media update.
