Russell will serve the next 45 years in federal prison for his incomprehensible acts," elucidating, the FBI's resolute dedication to pursue and penalize those who target the vulnerable among us their young from the youngest of infants to teenagers, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are engaged in a relentless chase to bring justice in such egregious situations. The investigative efforts leading to Russell's arrest and conviction were a collaboration between the FBI and local Elk City Police Department, reinforcing the notion that protecting children is a responsibility shared across different levels of law enforcement.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Heather Haywood and Jordan Ganz were credited with the prosecution of the case for the Western District of Texas and the Western District of Oklahoma, respectively.
