A fatal collision on Cheyenne Road overpass at I-15 claimed the life of one woman and left another in critical condition yesterday. The accident, which involved two sedans, occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. One of the drivers, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was urgently transported to a local hospital, reported News 3 LV.
The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol swiftly responded to manage the aftermath of the incident, which forced the closure of Cheyenne Road in both directions, affecting the stretch from Losee Road to Civic Center Road. The I-15 southbound off-ramp and northbound ramp to westbound I-15 were also temporarily shut down. Officials advised motorists to seek out alternative routes and to avoid the area to quickly allow emergency services to handle the situation.
The 8 News Now coverage indicated that RTC Southern Nevada later confirmed the re-opening of Cheyenne Avenue at I-15 at around 5:40 p.m. that evening, restoring traffic flow in the affected region.
