Tragedy struck Wylie, Texas, last Saturday when a devastating vehicular accident claimed the life of one individual and implicated several others, as reported by the Wylie Police Department's social media.
According to the aforementioned source, around 4:39 pm on that fateful day, a black Hyundai Genesis, driven by Garland resident Stephen Lugo, veered across the center divider on the 2500 block of State Highway 78, crashing into a black Chevrolet Colorado, which caused the latter to flip over. The collision did not end there, as it went on to involve a silver Toyota Corolla that also suffered damage and ended up in a ditch, this sequence of unfortunate events culminated in an urgent response by Wylie Police and Wylie Fire Rescue.
The responders discovered Lugo, the driver of the Hyundai, but despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking a somber resolution to the incident; as for the occupants of the other vehicles, the details of their conditions were not immediately made available. Detective Alexandra Waters, the media contact for the Wylie Police Department, confirmed that this incident is under the active investigation of the department’s Accident Investigation Team, who are meticulously working to untangle the events that led to this fatal outcome.
