An incident occurred at a McDonald's near Katy, where two individuals were shot following a confrontation between two groups of suspected teenagers. The incident took place around 5:25 p.m. yesterday.

According to Click2Houston, the Harris County Sheriff's Office stated that the altercation involved seven to eight men and women who entered the establishment on Fry Road, and were soon engaged by another two to three individuals, leading to gunfire inside and outside of the McDonald's. Each of the parties seemed to be between 16 and 20 years old.

Officials reported that one of the victims was Jorge Arbaiza, 61, who was caught in the crossfire and succumbed to his injuries after being airlifted to the hospital. The second victim, a 26-year-old man whose involvement in the conflict is yet to be determined, is in serious condition but expected to survive after seeking refuge at a nearby Waffle House. ABC13 informed that the 61-year-old was in surgery following the shooting.

Post-incident, two groups involved quickly departed the scene in two separate vehicles - a maroon-colored SUV and white sedan - and currently remain at large. As the Harris County Sheriff's Office dives into surveillance footage and witness testimonies, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez didn't mince words, labeling the shooting as "senseless." "Multiple shots were fired while the business was full of customers, including several children," he said on a post, Click2Houston reported.
