
In a display of inter-agency coordination, the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, alongside the Union Pacific Railroad Police, SWAT, ATF Task Force Officers, and FBI Task Force Officers, executed a dual-location sting operation in Southaven, Mississippi, cracking down on a large-scale theft ring. On February 22, the bust led to the recovery of an assortment of stolen items, including over $30,000 of Milwaukee Tools merchandise, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a Can-Am Renegade ATV, and a Glock pistol, modified with a machine gun conversion device known as a "Glock Switch."
The operation, which targeted the theft of roughly $2 million worth of tools from cargo containers, landed two individuals in cuffs, as per the social media post from the DeSoto County Sheriff's Office, Macon Herron, a Southaven local, faces two counts of felony receiving stolen property and the prohibited possession of a machine gun conversion device he also had an active arrest warrant in Crittenden County, Arkansas, and this isn't Herron's first run-in with the law. He's been previously arrested for similar charges of receiving stolen goods.
The second apprehended suspect, Manuel Donis, was likewise ensnared on an active warrant from Crittenden County, Arkansas. While the details of Donis's involvement have not been extensively disclosed, the authorities have made it clear that their investigation is far from over.
