Officials reported that over 20 residents, including adults and children, have been left without a home following an apartment fire in Windsor Mill. Yesterday afternoon, flames took over a residential building at 7400 Brixworth Ct, requiring a massive response from local firefighters. According to Fox Baltimore, the Baltimore County Fire Department was promptly on the scene after receiving reports of the blaze just after 5 p.m.
Arriving firefighters were greeted with fire visible through the structure's roof, which later spread, catching an adjacent building regarding Travis Francis, Public Information Officer for the BCFD. Working diligently to contain the situation, the fire department declared the fire under control at approximately 7:21 p.m. The two-alarm blaze summoned over 50 firefighters to the scene, with Francis adding that neither of the buildings impacted by the fire would be habitable overnight.
Thankfully, despite the severity of the fire, which engulfed the third floor of the three-story building, no injuries have been reported. WMAR 2 News noted that the Red Cross provides food and assistance to those displaced by the fire, ensuring the affected families have support during this upheaval.
