An Oxon Hill, Maryland, man has been charged with the murder of his wife following a domestic incident that turned deadly. Per reports from the Prince George's County Police Department, Kenton Donaldson, 38, is accused of stabbing his wife, LeNaiya Donaldson, 33, to death in her own home, as detailed by DC News Now.
The sequence of events became apparent after a friend of the victim's notified authorities of a dispute last Saturday. A subsequent emergency call was made by Kenton himself, informing the call taker that he had stabbed his wife during an altercation in her apartment and then fled. A statement reported by WJLA indicates that Kenton Donaldson was on his way to a relative's home in Virginia at the time of the second call.
Officers who responded to the distress call at the 1100 block of Kennebec St. found LeNaiya Donaldson with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. In the aftermath, with assistance from the Fairfax County Police Department, Kenton was located in Virginia and taken into custody. According to information released by the Daily Voice, Kenton Donaldson is now detained in Fairfax County and is pending extradition back to Maryland.
