Alert citizens in Parker played a key role recently, when they reported a suspected drunk driver to the local authorities. "We are grateful to the Parker residents who gave us a call to report a suspected drunk driver," as obtained by the Parker Police Department. The reports were crucial, leading to the subsequent arrest of the individual involved.
According to Parker Police Department, the first call came from a concerned resident who noticed a driver swerving all over the road near Hess and Motsenbocker. Shortly thereafter, another caller alerted the police when they saw the same vehicle parked with the driver asleep at the wheel, the car still running, in a subdivision. This collaborative effort by the residents was instrumental in preventing a potential disaster.
Responding officers conducted roadside tests after speaking with the suspect, who was then arrested and taken to the Douglas County Jail. The charges were serious, suspicion of driving while under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
